EP 1.2 — Across the Road: Patrick Ray Moves From Sheriff's Office to County Mayor

After nearly four decades in law enforcement, Patrick Ray is trading the Sheriff’s Office for the County Mayor’s Office — and he’s joining The Tom Duggin Show with Jordan Atnip to talk about the journey.

In Episode 1.2, Tom and Jordan sit down with newly elected DeKalb County Mayor Patrick Ray for a wide-ranging conversation about his 37 years in law enforcement, including 20 years serving as DeKalb County Sheriff, and the experiences that shaped his approach to leadership.

Ray also tackles one of DeKalb County’s most controversial and talked-about issues — the county jail. He discusses the challenges facing himself in his new role, as we as a County Commission that welcomes eight new members after the August General Election.

Then, the conversation turns toward the future. Why leave a career in law enforcement to become County Mayor? What are his priorities? And what is his vision for DeKalb County in the years ahead?

It’s a conversation about public service, difficult decisions, changing roles, and the future of DeKalb County with a man who has spent much of his life serving the community.
