God tells Noah exactly how to build the vessel that will carry life through the coming judgment.

But how big was the ark really? In Genesis 6:13–16, we slow down and look at its actual dimensions, the enormous amount of space inside it, and whether it could realistically hold the different kinds of animals Noah was commanded to preserve.

Then a strange biblical connection appears.

The Hebrew word used for Noah’s ark — tebah — appears only one other time in Scripture: the basket that carried baby Moses through the waters of the Nile. Two vessels. Two moments of death and judgment. Two men preserved through water. And in both stories, God protects the one through whom His plan of redemption will continue.

We also look at the ark’s three levels and a fascinating possible echo of the three realms described in Philippians 2—heaven, earth, and under the earth.

The ark was more than a survival vessel.

It carried the animals. It carried Noah. It carried his family.

But ultimately, it carried something even greater:

The promise that the coming Savior would still make it through the waters.
