Preached July 19, 2026 by Adam Miller · Series: Summer Psalms, Book II · Text: Psalms 44–48 Psalm 44 asks, "God, where are you now?" Psalm 45 answers with a royal wedding song that points to Christ and his bride. Psalms 46–48 then show God as a very present help and a fortress who defends Zion. This sermon shows how the certainty of our future with Christ changes how we face trouble now, and what we pass on to the next generation. South Chatham Community Church · chatham-church.com
Preached July 12, 2026 by Adam Miller · Series: Summer Psalms, Book II · Text: Psalms 42–43 "Why are you cast down, O my soul?" The sons of Korah give us a lament from someone whose tears have been their food day and night. This psalm shows that we can bring our heaviest emotions to God unfiltered. It also teaches us to preach hope to our own souls, and it traces how the same cries of lament in Psalm 42 turn into praise by Psalm 63. South Chatham Community Church · chatham-church.com
Preached June 28, 2026 by Adam Miller · Series: Ask Me Why I'm Hopeful (I & II Peter) · Text: 2 Peter 3:14–18 This sermon concludes 1 and 2 Peter. Because Christ is returning, we are to be diligent: found at peace, without spot or blemish, and stable when the unstable twist the Scriptures. Peter's final charge is to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." What does that look like? It looks like Jesus. How do we get there? By looking to Jesus. Preached June 21, 2026 by Adam Miller · Series: Ask Me Why I'm Hopeful (I & II Peter) · Text: 2 Peter 3:1–13 Scoffers ask, "Where is the promise of his coming?" Peter answers that God is not slow to return. He is slow to anger, because he is not willing that any should perish, and he wants all to reach repentance. The day of the Lord will come like a thief. Until then we are called to repent, to tell others, and to "wait for and hasten" that day while we look for new heavens and a new earth. South Chatham Community Church · chatham-church.com
Preached April 26, 2026 by Adam Miller · Series: Ask Me Why I'm Hopeful (I & II Peter) · Text: 1 Peter 2:13–3:12 Peter writes to "elect exiles," Christians who have been born again to a living hope and now live as outsiders in their own hometowns. He calls them to submit to every human authority, even Nero. That submission is not weakness. It shows who our true King is. When we suffer unjustly, we get a living picture of what Christ did for us, and a chance for others to see the hope that is in us. South Chatham Community Church · chatham-church.com
Preached June 14, 2026 by Adam Miller · Series: Ask Me Why I'm Hopeful (I & II Peter) · Text: 2 Peter 2:1–22 Writing from prison as he awaits execution, Peter gives the church a grave warning about false teachers. They bring in destructive heresies, exploit people's emotions, and promise freedom while they are slaves of corruption. This sermon explains the difference between heresy and schism. It shows how God judged the wicked while rescuing Noah and Lot, and how growing in grace and knowledge protects us from being deceived. South Chatham Community Church · chatham-church.com
