Toy Story 3

October is here, but before we can get to the scary threequels, we're watching 2010's Toy Story 3... which honestly is a pretty intense experience. Fortunately, you've got a friend(s) in Will and Sam, as they muse over the movie's timely message about passing our toys (and beloved IP) on to new generations, as well as their own hopes and fears about parenthood and whether or not their kids will like all the same nerdy crap they liked. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

Explícito
This week, Podcast Part 3 is venturing out into the wasteland for a visit to Bartertown. It's time for 1985's Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, George Miller's not-final-anymore entry in the absurdly influential post-apocalyptic Mad Max saga. Spoiler alert: Any movie stuck between The Road Warrior and Fury Road is gonna have a hard time, no matter how much Tina Turner it's got. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Explícito
Remember those movies from the mid-2000s where Kate Beckinsale wore a lot of skintight leather and fought werewolves? (The correct answer is "sort of...?") Turns they made five of them and we're watching the third one, 2009's Underworld: Rise of the Lycans! It's a prequel movie, so no Kate Beckinsale, but instead we get Bill Nighy and Michael Sheen taking bites out of the scenery as we learn the origin of the centuries old blood feud between vampires and werewolves. Be prepared to take notes, because this franchise has A LOT of world-building. Unfortunately, it doesn't have much else. Alien 3

Explícito
It's time for a look at the Alien saga's gloomiest and most divisive chapter, 1992's Alien 3, a movie that boldly doesn't care if you liked the ending of Aliens. Spend an hour with Sam and Will as they break down what works (Sigourney Weaver, David Fincher) and what doesn't (pretty much everything else). Then stick around as they talk about other random stuff for like 15 minutes! (Music: Backbeat by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/) via Creative Commons license. Three Third Predators

Explícito
It's a triple feature of Part 3s this week, as Sam and Will face off against the galaxy's deadliest hunter not once, not twice, but THREE times as the Predator franchise tries time and again to restart itself, first with 2004's Alien vs. Predator, then with 2010's Predators and finally with 2018's The Predator. At least Predator 2 isn't ashamed to admit it's a sequel to something. Music: Backbeat by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/) via Creative Commons license. Jaws 3-D

Explícito
Summer's here, and Podcast Part 3 is back... coming to you live from SeaWorld! Hope you like endless B-roll of waterskiiers and a lot of out-of-focus camera work, because Sam and Will watched Jaws 3-D, starring Dennis Quaid, Louis Gossett, Jr., Lea Thompson, Manimal, the mom from My So-Called Life, and the most rigid and unrealistic fiberglass shark since... well, Jaws 2. "Suggested by the novel Jaws by Peter Benchley." Music: Backbeat by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/) via Creative Commons license. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Explícito
Look what we have made... it's the season finale of Podcast Part 3, and we're wrapping up our Palpatine trilogy with 2019's The Rise of Skywalker! Will and Sam fire up their force dyad to puzzle over the many strange decisions that led to this messy end to the Skywalker Saga. Along the way, Sam nitpicks about lightsabers, Will bangs the table in frustration a lot, and together they have a friendly and respectful discussion about The Last Jedi. (Yes, it can be done!) Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

Explícito
This week, we move forward with Star Wars but also back in time?! We've done Episode VI, so logically Episode III should be next, right?. If you're confused, then congratulations... you're in the prequel trilogy, and we're watching 2005's Revenge of the Sith! Thrill as Palpatine transitions from normal-face Chancellor to monster-face Emperor, while Sam and Will break down Star Wars' "quiet years" before the prequels, and beat a very-dead horse by proclaiming this movie a decent threequel but also a lava-scorched hot mess. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

Explícito
It is unavoidable. It is our destiny. Welcome to the three-part season finale of Podcast Part 3! It's time for an Emperor Palpatine triple feature, starting this week with 1983's Return of the Jedi... a film from a simpler time, when Star Wars was just three movies, two Ewok Adventures and one Holiday Special. And we liked it that way, dammit. Get off our lawn. Music: Backbeat by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/) via Creative Commons license. Army of Darkness

Explícito
Strap on your chainsaw and load up your boomstick, 'cause this week Will and Sam are headed to the Middle Ages to face down 1993's Army of Darkness! After the horror of The Evil Dead and the horror comedy of Evil Dead II, Sam Raimi's third rumination on the dark powers of the Necronomicon is a horror comedy fantasy time travel masterpiece and one of the best and grooviest threequels we've seen yet.
