T eachers often think that they need time, so they wait and see, and it`s even worse as time passes. What`s brain got to do with it ?

In today`s episode, I`m talking about brain research & dyslexia in the EFL context. There are so many myths and misconceptions that I`ve decided to shed some light on and dismantle some of them. ✔️Learning a language is a complex task; learning to read in L1 or L2 is challenging for our brains, so let me take you through some fundamentals: ✳️The temporal lobe is responsible for phonological awareness and decoding/discriminating sounds. ✳️The frontal lobe handles speech production, reading fluency, grammatical usage, and comprehension, making it possible to understand simple and complex grammar .✳️The angular and supramarginal gyrus serve as a "reading integrator" a conductor of sorts, linking the different parts of the brain together to execute the reading action. ❌ Working on L2 is so much more than mind maps & memorization. You`ve got to go to print and speech principles so that your students are successful in the future.
