    On May 15th, 1850 the 1st Dragoons Regiment of the United States Calvary slaughtered 200 Pomos mostly consistent of elders, women, and children. Their orders were to exterminate if possible the whole tribe. The Pomos were massacred on what they call today, Bloody Island.
