Based in Detroit, Sounds of Imani is an award-winning contemporary gospel and smooth jazz duo composed of husband-and-wife team Gerald and Carol Ervin.

Following their marriage, they decided to streamline the project into a dynamic duo, rebranding as "Sounds of Imani"—utilizing the Swahili word Imani, which translates to "faith." Backed by a live band, the duo carries on Detroit’s rich legacy of musical excellence, performing at churches, festivals, special events, and weddings with a signature sound that blends soulful love songs, faith-driven message music, and smooth jazz instrumentation.
