My dear friend Emily Hanson and I have been friends since fourth grade math class, and over the past several years we've kept our friendship alive through Marco Polo, sending each other video messages back and forth whenever life allows. So for this episode, I asked Emily if she'd be willing to let some of those videos become a podcast episode, and she said yes.

We talk about how we met, what it's meant to stay close over 35 years, and what it looks like to support each other through very different lives. Emily lives on a farm and shares what that dream has actually looked like in practice, the beauty of it and the exhaustion of it.
