Divorce: God's Best, Our Brokenness & His Grace

What does Jesus actually teach about divorce, remarriage, and adultery? God's design for marriage is clear: one man and one woman joined together for a lifetime. But the Bible is equally honest about another reality—we are sinful people living in a broken world, and we don't always live according to God's best. Continuing our deep dive into what the Bible really says about divorce, Dr. Rocky Ramsey moves from the Old Testament foundation into the teaching of Jesus and the New Testament. What does Scripture mean by adultery? Does the Bible ever permit remarriage? What about unfaithfulness, abandonment, or the death of a spouse? And what does God's grace offer someone whose past already includes divorce, remarriage, adultery, or sexual sin? Watch, share, and subscribe for more Biblical teaching from Corryton Church. Why Bad Things Happen to Good People

Why do bad things happen to good people? Does everything that happens in our lives happen because God planned it? When tragedy strikes, is it always accurate to say, "God did this for a reason"? In "God, Time & Chance, and You," Dr. Rocky Ramsey reveals what Scripture teaches about living in a fallen and unpredictable world. Nature is not what God originally intended. People are not what God intended us to be. Life itself is not what God intended it to be. As a result, sometimes we blame God for things He didn't do—and other times we give God credit for things He didn't do. So how should Christians respond when life doesn't make sense? This message explains what the Bible teaches about prayer, suffering, God's will, and faith. We'll see why prayer is ultimately about God's will rather than ours, how God cares for hurting people, where we find strength when circumstances overwhelm us, and how God can take what is genuinely bad and use it to produce something good. Divorce: What Does the Bible Really Say?

What does the Bible really say about divorce? Not what you've heard. Not what tradition assumes. Not what culture wants it to say. What does the whole counsel of Scripture actually teach? In Part Two of this three-part deep dive into marriage and divorce, Dr. Rocky Ramsey goes back to the foundation: God is right, His Word is true, and individual passages must be understood in light of everything Scripture says. From there, he examines the Hebrew words translated "divorce," the Old Testament laws surrounding divorce and remarriage, Moses' teaching in Deuteronomy, God's words through Malachi and Jeremiah, and Jesus' explanation in Matthew 19. Along the way, you may discover that some familiar passages don't say exactly what you've always assumed they say. If you've experienced divorce, considered it, counseled someone through it, or simply want your beliefs about marriage to come from Scripture rather than tradition, this is an important message. Jesus Is the Light — Are You Following Him?

Jesus said He is the Light of the World. But what does it actually mean to walk in His light? In the third message of this series on light and darkness, Dr. Rocky Ramsey examines what Scripture means when it calls Christians to "walk in the light of the Lord." God is Light. His kingdom is a kingdom of light. And nothing—not our actions, motives, secrets, or choices—is hidden from Him. Walking in the light means more than believing in Jesus. It means learning God's will and living according to it. It means obeying His commands, serving His purposes, loving His people, and refusing to substitute our own judgment for His truth. Jesus doesn't simply illuminate the life we want to live. He calls us to leave the darkness and follow Him. Marriage Is Hard! Here's Why...

Explícito
Why do so many marriages struggle—even among Christians? The problem isn't that marriage is broken. The problem is that broken people bring brokenness into marriage. Launching a three-part deep dive on what the Bible says about divorce, Dr. Rocky Ramsey begins by addressing the real issues behind failing marriages. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 7 and other key passages, this message examines why marriage is difficult, what God intended it to be, and how husbands and wives can build a relationship that not only survives, but flourishes. Marriage is challenging because of sin, selfishness, unrealistic expectations, and the reasons many people marry in the first place. But Scripture points to a better way. A healthy Christian marriage is built on love, mutual service, respect, humility, and a commitment to put the other person first. This isn't just a message about fixing marriages. It's a message about becoming the kind of person who makes a marriage healthy. Whether you're single, dating, engaged, newly married, or have been married for decades, these biblical principles have the power to strengthen your relationships and transform your home. How Satan's Kingdom Really Works

What does the Bible mean when it talks about "darkness"? Is darkness simply the absence of good—or is it something deeper? In this message, Dr. Rocky Ramsey explains one of Scripture's most sobering themes: the domain of darkness. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals two kingdoms—one ruled by light and truth, the other by deception and rebellion. Every person belongs to one or the other. • Why does humanity naturally drift toward darkness? • How does Satan deceive people? • Why does this world often oppose God? • How did Jesus rescue us from the kingdom of darkness? • What does it mean to walk in the light today? The good news is that Jesus willingly entered humanity's darkest hour so that we could be brought into His marvelous light. No matter how dark your past may be, Christ still calls people out of darkness and into life. Why Walking in the Light Changes Your Life

What does it really mean to walk in the light? Jesus didn't simply come to improve our lives—He came to give us life itself. Scripture reveals that Christ is the Light of the World (John 8:12). He gives direction to the lost, exposes what is false, and offers eternal life to all who follow Him. In this message, Dr. Rocky Ramsey teaches 1 John 1 and other key passages that reveal God's nature as perfect light. You'll discover why walking in the light is more than believing certain truths—it's living a transformed life that reflects Christ and enjoys fellowship with God and His people. The Danger of Wanting "More" Than Jesus

When is Jesus enough? In this concluding message of the two-part series "When Jesus Isn't Enough," Dr. Rocky Ramsey explains what happens when believers begin substituting experiences for a relationship with Jesus. Looking to Colossians 2, we'll discover that everything we need for life, salvation, and spiritual maturity is found in Christ alone. When Scripture is replaced by feelings, deception follows. But when Jesus becomes enough, we find the completeness only He can give. Do you have a question for Pastor Rocky? Email media@corrytonchurch.com to submit your questions today. What Does the Bible Say About Speaking in Tongues?

The gift of tongues has been one of the most discussed and debated subjects in modern Christianity. What does the Bible actually teach? How were tongues used in the early church? How should believers understand this spiritual gift today? In this final message of our Holy Spirit series, Dr. Rocky Ramsey walks verse-by-verse through 1 Corinthians 14, examining the Biblical purpose of tongues, their role in the book of Acts, and Paul's instructions to the church at Corinth. Rather than building doctrine on tradition or experience, this message points us back to Scripture as the final authority. You'll learn why tongues served as a sign to unbelievers, how God used them to unite Jews, Samaritans, Gentiles, and others into one church, why Paul devoted an entire chapter to correcting the Corinthians' misuse of spiritual gifts, and how Biblical instruction should shape our understanding today. What Happens When Jesus Isn't Enough For You

In the first of a two-part message, Dr. Rocky Ramsey reveals what happens when we believe that Jesus is not enough. Colossians 2:8-10 reminds us that in Christ "all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form" and that in Him we have been made complete. When Jesus isn't enough, we begin craving experiences. We look for something more. And when we are convinced that what we have is not enough, we can become vulnerable to anything that promises to give us more. But Jesus is not merely a feeling, an experience, or an addition to our lives. Jesus is God. Jesus is who we get. And salvation is having Jesus. For young families, for longtime Christians, and for anyone who has ever wondered whether their faith should feel like something more, this message asks a deeply important question: Are we seeking Jesus—or seeking an experience? Because if Jesus is not enough, then perhaps we do not really have Jesus. Do you have a question for Pastor Rocky? Email media@corrytonchurch.com to submit your questions today.
