The Miraculous Founding of America | Shannon O'Dell
Is America a miracle? In week one of American Miracle, Pastor Shannon explores the spiritual foundation of America and the responsibility of the Church in a nation desperately in need of healing. Centered on 2 Chronicles 7:14, this message challenges believers to look inward before looking outward. Rather than making this about winning political arguments, Pastor Shannon calls the Church to humble itself, pray, seek God, turn from sin, strengthen the family, honor worship, and live with Jesus at the center. This is a message about resisting mission drift, reclaiming the gospel-centered purpose of the Church, and becoming a living case for the truth we believe. Contend til the End | Shannon O'Dell
Contend, Don't Pretend | Bunk Bed Diaries – Week 6 | Jude (Father's Day) This is it. The final week of Bunk Bed Diaries, and it's Father's Day, which means it's time to put the gloves on. Jude, the half brother of Jesus, sat down to write the New Testament church a letter about everything good. The resurrection, the gospel, the hope of glory. But he hit pause. Because there was something more urgent he had to say first: contend for the faith. This message gets practical fast, especially for dads. Be watchful over what's in your house. Stand firm and don't back down. Defend what God has given you, even when it costs you. And when you get punched in the face (and you will), get back up and keep fighting. In this message: What "contend" actually means in the original language, and why it's not a metaphor The difference between defending the truth and just being angry online How to spot infiltrators trying to rewrite truth as feelings Why moral relativism falls apart the same way bad math or a bad bridge does The four things that keep you in the fight when you want to quit: build yourself up, pray in the Spirit, stay in God's love, and go get someone 📖 Jude 1 | 1 Timothy 6:12 | 2 Timothy 4:7 | 1 Corinthians 16:13 | 1 Corinthians 15 📲 Text BRAND NEW to 94000 to take a next step. 🌐 [brandnewchurch.com] 📱 Download the Brand New Church app
The Power of Being Planted | Shannon O'Dell
Rooted & Radical | Bunk Bed Diaries – Week 5 | James 5 If you're really saved, something on the outside has to show it. In week five of Bunk Bed Diaries, we land in the final chapter of James with one defining idea: real faith isn't private. Inward conviction always produces outward expression. And the word James keeps coming back to — patience, standing firm, commitment, prayer — all point to the same thing: you've got to be rooted. Rooted, by the way, isn't a soft word. The original root of the word means radical. Like a radish. (Seriously.) If you're truly planted in Jesus, something is going to grow, shoot, and bear fruit — whether it's comfortable or not. In this message: Why "rooted" and "radical" share the same etymology — and what that means for your walk with God How patience isn't weakness — it's evidence (Abraham waited 25 years, Caleb waited 45) The Greek word for "grumble" is stenos — and it literally means creating a tight, pressurized space where God can't move What it means to let your yes be yes — and why your priorities always expose your real commitments Why you can't follow Jesus privately: Jesus died on a public cross, and saying yes to Him means going public Radical prayers: healing prayers, confession prayers, and the prayer of a righteous person (that's you, if you're saved) The last words of James — go turn a sinner from the error of their ways
Your Problem is YOU | Shannon O'Dell
Nobody wants to hear it. But James says it anyway — most of your relationship conflict starts with you. In week four of Bunk Bed Diaries, we dig into James chapter 4 and get honest about what's really driving the fights, the frustration, and the unmet expectations in our lives. The good news? The same chapter that exposes the problem also hands you the antidote. From learning how to actually pray, to understanding why pride puts you in God's crosshairs, to the four simple steps that flip the switch from being opposed by God to being favored by Him — this is some of the most practical truth in the whole book. In this message: Why the root of most conflict is unmet needs in you, not something they did How to pray backward, upward, inward, outward, and forward — and what the "hand prayer" is all about What it means that God "opposes the proud" (hint: it means He's actively stiff-arming you) The signs of pride you might not recognize in yourself — competition, stubbornness, superficiality The antidote: submit, resist, draw near — and what that actually looks like on a Tuesday 📖 James 4 | Proverbs 17:14 | Matthew 6:33 | Philippians 2:13 | Colossians 3:13 | James 4:17 📲 Text BRAND NEW to 94000 to connect or take a next step. 🌐 [brandnewchurch.com] 📱 Download the Brand New Church app
Watch Your Mouth | Shannon O'Dell
Good, I've got the full picture. Here's the description and chapters: YouTube Description Watch Your Mouth | Bunk Bed Diaries – Week 3 | James 3 It's small. It's powerful. And it can set your entire life on fire. In week three of Bunk Bed Diaries, we dig into James chapter 3 and get real about the thing most of us underestimate — the tongue. Your words aren't just words. They shape your world, reveal your soul, and either build something lasting or burn it all down. This isn't a self-improvement message. James isn't telling you to try harder. He's pointing to a God who changes you from the inside out — and the tongue is one of the clearest signs of whether that transformation is actually happening. In this message: Why the tongue is called "a world of evil" — and what that actually means for your life 6 things God hates, and why most of them come down to how you talk The difference between heavenly wisdom and earthly, unspiritual, demonic "wisdom" How bitter envy and selfish ambition create disorder and chaos in every area of life The power of self-talk, self-assessment, and how the Holy Spirit gives you both the desire and the power to change James 3 | Proverbs 6:16–19 | James 3:17 | Philippians 2:13 | 2 Corinthians 12:9 | Romans 5:17 Text BRAND NEW to 94000 to connect or take a next step. Faith With No Works is Dead | Shannon O'Dell
Faith That Shows | Bunk Bed Diaries – Week 2 | James 2 What's the difference between believing in God and actually being changed by Him? In week two of Bunk Bed Diaries, we dig into James chapter 2 and tackle one of the most misunderstood tensions in the Bible — faith vs. works. James isn't contradicting Paul. They're two sides of the same coin. Salvation is by grace alone, but real faith never stays invisible. It moves. It obeys. It produces fruit. Through the lives of two wildly different people — Father Abraham and Rahab the prostitute — we discover what it actually looks like to live out faith in action. Whether you feel like the patriarch or the outcast, God wants to use your life for His glory. In this message: Why "faith without works is dead" doesn't mean you earn your salvation How Paul and James are saying the same thing in different ways What Abraham's walk up Mount Moriah teaches us about obedience before clarity Why Rahab's story proves no past is too broken for God to use Three practical challenges: be bold, participate, and fasten your faith publicly 📖 James 2 | Genesis 22 | Hebrews 11 | Ephesians 2:8–10 | Joshua 2 📲 Text BRAND NEW to 94000 to connect with us or take a next step. 🌐 Visit us at [brandnewchurch.com] 📱 Download the Brand New Church app
The World Needs Real Christians | Shannon O'Dell
What does real Christianity actually look like? In this first message of our new series Bunk Bed Diaries, we dive into James chapter 1 — written by the half brother of Jesus — to explore what authentic faith looks like in everyday life. James didn't believe in Jesus at first. His own family thought Jesus had lost his mind. But after a personal encounter with the resurrected Christ, everything changed. And that same transformation is available to you. In this message, we unpack four marks of real Christianity from James 1: how to face crisis with joy, how to grow in wisdom, how to stop wavering between God and the world, and what God promises to those who walk in obedience. The world doesn't need another cultural or political version of Jesus. It needs to see the real thing — in your life. 📲 Text BRAND NEW to 94000 📖 Follow along in the Brand New Church app
Love Like a Mother! | Shannon O'Dell
What makes a mother's voice so powerful? In this Mother's Day message closing out our Voices & Choices series, we explore how the right voices lead us to the right choices — and there's no voice quite like a mother's. How to Know When It's God's Will | Shannon O'Dell
In Week 3 of Voices and Choices, Pastor Shannon O’Dell teaches on how to hear God’s voice so you can make the right choices. The voices you listen to will always shape the direction of your life — but hearing God requires more than just wanting clarity. It requires dropping distractions, aligning your life with God’s Word, seeking wise counsel, stepping out in faith, and staying faithful even when the excitement wears off. Through the story of Joseph, we’re reminded that God may give you the dream, but He may not give you every detail. Sometimes He withholds the full picture so your faith can grow. The calling may be bigger than you, harder than you expected, and tied to more people than you realize — but if God spoke it, stay with it. Don’t quit on what God called you to. Write it down. Seek wisdom. Watch God work. And keep choosing obedience.
