On the season finale of Beyond the Break presented by the HBPA of Ontario, host Jamie Attard and the voice of Woodbine, track announcer Robert Geller recap the final week of racing in the 2024 Woodbine Thoroughbred season (1:19), including a feel good win for Terra Racing Stable's Fashionably Fab in the La Prevoyante Stakes on Saturday (10:44) and trainer Ron Sadler capping off a career year with Ron's Gizmo's gutsy win in Sunday's Steady Growth Stakes (19:15). Woodbine's newly crowned Champion jockey Sahin Civaci joins the show (36:41) to talk about his life and career in horse racing and shares what's made his incredible season possible. And for the final time this year, Jamie takes a quick look ahead (1:00:25) to 2025 and gives thanks to all those who have helped make Beyond the Break the show it is.
Student Of The Game - Austin Adams - December 12, 2024

Under heavy snowfall at Woodbine, LNJ Foxwoods’ Earhart (16:48) was a gray blur in her second career start and second career romp, making her first start against winners look even easier than her maiden breaking victory first time out. Apprentice jockey Austin Adams joins the show (33:12) to discuss everything from his start in the sport attending the North American Racing Academy in Lexington, Kentucky to winning a prestigious race in Deuville, France this past summer and hitting his stride in the second half of this his first full season as a jockey. Executive Director of the HBPA of Ontario Steve Lym joins the show (27:41) to share his life and career in horse racing that's seen him do a little bit of everything in the sport from trainer to chief clocker, Racing Secretary to Director of Racing and his moves to California, Florida and ultimately what led him back home to his current role. They'll recap the Shady Well Stakes (5:57) won by leading jockey Shin Civaci aboard Pop Idol and trainer Kevin Attard's 11th stake win of the season thanks to Al & Bill Ulwelling's Mansetti in the Clarendon Stakes (12:22). Trainer Josie De Paulo joins the show (25:43) to discuss her life and career in the business that started on her father Joe's farm from a young age that continues with her husband Mike closing in on career win number 1,000. Short But Sweet - November 21, 2024
On this shortened episode of Beyond the Break presented by the HBPA of Ontario, host Jamie Attard and Woodbine track announcer Robert Geller get you up to date on a busy week of racing from Woodbine (1:13) that had 4 stakes and 42 total races over four days of racing. Last Saturday the ultra consistent and hard trying Wicked Django pulled off an upset in the rescheduled Grade 2 Autumn Stakes (4:12), and reigning Champion Male Sprinter Patches O'Houlihan was denied a 5th consecutive win and bid for a perfect season when the Larry Rivelli ship-in Nobals caught him just before the wire in the Grade 2 Kennedy Road Stakes (10:33). Sunday wrapped up the 2024 Ontario Sired Heritage series with a pair of stakes for the three-year-olds in each division: in the Ashbridges Bay Stakes (18:33) for the fillies, Canuck Racing Club's War Painter closed late to win a wild finish which saw first to fifth decided by only 3/4 of a length, and Mary Self's No More Options scored in the Lake Ontario Stakes (20:26) in the boys division. And to wrap up the episode, Jamie gives you a look ahead (34:41) to the coming week of racing from Woodbine.

Magnificent Moira - Marianne Ortepi - November 7, 2024
On this episode of Beyond the Break presented by the HBPA of Ontario, host Jamie Attard and Woodbine track announcer Robert Geller take a close look at Moira's incredible victory in last Saturday's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Del Mar (1:14), as well as her sale just 48 hours later at Fasig Tipton in Kentucky. U.S based trainer Brendan Walsh had his filly Somethinabouther more than ready for her first race on Tapeta in Sunday's Grade 3 Mazarine (11:25), and just a race later it was no laughing matter when Josie Carroll's He's Not Joking pulled away to an impressive win in the Grade 3 Grey Stakes (15:55).
