Uncanny Treks: Gotham City Sirens- Division (2012, Comic)

The Sirens' last stand. Bob and Matt close out Paul Dini's Gotham City Sirens with Division (vol. 4), collecting the final issues (#20-21, 23-26). Harley breaks into Arkham to kill the Joker — and releases him instead, sparking a Joker-Harley takeover that takes Batman and Catwoman to put down. Then Ivy springs Harley, and the two turn on Catwoman — until Selina reveals she's been using her Batman connections to protect them all along. The series ends with the three going their separate ways. Matt's not ready to say goodbye; Bob calls it the right ending at the right time.

Uncanny Treks: Fantastic Four Epic Collection Vol. 1 (1961, Comic)

It all started here. Bob and Matt go back to 1961 with the Fantastic Four Epic Collection Vol. 1, collecting FF #1-18 — the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby issues that lit the fuse on the Marvel Age. Cosmic rays, the Skrulls, the Puppet Master, Namor, the Watcher, a Hulk guest shot, and the first clashes with Dr. Doom: a bickering family that can't pay the rent and isn't sure it likes its powers. Matt's read them all before; Bob's seeing the raw material of the Marvel Universe for the first time. The verdict: 'The World's Greatest Comic Magazine' earned the name.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds Season 3 Recap (2025, TV)

Season three, soup to nuts. Bob and Matt wrap their Strange New Worlds season-three coverage with the full recap: the Gorn war opener, the Hollywood holodeck episode, the Vezda quantum horror, Kirk's disastrous first command, the Starfleet documentary, the Vulcan farce, the Gorn buddy episode, and Batel's devastating finale sacrifice. They rank the ten episodes, crown the season's MVP, and argue about whether the swings all connected. The verdict on the wildest season yet — plus what's next.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds Season 2 Recap (2023, TV)

The recap that got away. Bob and Matt go back and fill the hole in their coverage: a full recap of Strange New Worlds season two, the 2023 run they somehow never wrapped. Ten episodes, one long Gorn shadow, and a cliffhanger that left the Enterprise broken and Batel in enemy hands. It's the season that made the show appointment television — and the hosts finally give it its due. Better late than never, and Matt has a new theory about what season two was really about.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds S3E10 (2025, TV)

The Vezda return — and everything breaks. Bob and Matt close out Strange New Worlds season three with 'New Life and New Civilizations,' the finale where the ancient evil resurfaces on Skygowan with the resurrected Ensign Gamble — and Batel is revealed as the prison's warden. Her sacrifice gives Pike an 'Inner Light'-style shared lifetime (a daughter, a dog) before she becomes the Beholder statue, while a Kirk-Spock mind meld and Chapel's farewell to Korby close the season's emotional books. The hosts reckon with the biggest swing of the season and set course for the five-year mission.

Uncanny Treks: Gotham City Sirens- Strange Fruit (2011, Comic)

The sisterhood starts to crack. Bob and Matt take on Gotham City Sirens: Strange Fruit (vol. 3), collecting #14-19, where the fallout of 'The Return of Bruce Wayne' turns Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley against each other. Selina's dealing with her sister, Ivy's building a S.T.A.R. Labs career, and guest stars Zatanna and Talia al Ghul only complicate the trust issues. Dini's run is heading for the rocks, and you can feel it. Matt mourns the good times; Bob says the cracks were always there.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds S3E9 (2025, TV)

Enemy Mine, but make it Trek. Bob and Matt dig into 'Terrarium,' the Strange New Worlds episode that strands Ortegas on a moon after a wormhole mishap — where she befriends an injured Gorn pilot to survive. Then La'an arrives with the rescue and kills the Gorn on sight, and a Metron appears to reveal the whole thing was an experiment in human-Gorn coexistence. Memories wiped, lesson unlearned — or is it? It's a direct reframe of TOS 'Arena,' and the hosts argue about whether the show earned the callback.

Uncanny Treks: Gotham City Sirens- Songs of the Sirens (2010, Comic)

Someone's hunting the Sirens. Bob and Matt continue Paul Dini's Gotham City Sirens with Songs of the Sirens (vol. 2), collecting #8-13 plus Catwoman #83. Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley are settling into their uneasy alliance — Riddler included — when a mysterious villain starts targeting all three of them for death. Dini keeps the character work sharp while the noose tightens. Matt tracks the suspects; Bob just enjoys watching Harley be Harley in a book that lets her.

Uncanny Treks: Batman vs. Punisher (1994, Comic)

Two vigilantes, one Gotham, zero mercy. Bob and Matt revisit 1994's Batman/Punisher crossovers: Dennis O'Neil's 'Lake of Fire,' where Jigsaw schemes to blow up Gotham's water supply and Frank Castle rolls into town — colliding with the Batman of the moment, the unhinged Jean-Paul Valley, post-Knightfall and Azrael-flavored. Then Chuck Dixon and John Romita Jr.'s 'Deadly Knights,' where the Punisher returns hunting Jigsaw (now backed by the Joker) and finds a different man under the cowl — Bruce Wayne, back in black. Frank never notices the switch. Bob and Matt grade both brawls.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds S3E8 (2025, TV)

Four Vulcans walk into a reactor core. Bob and Matt cover 'Four-and-a-Half Vulcans,' the Strange New Worlds comedy where Pike, La'an, Uhura, and Chapel take Kherkovian serum to pass as Vulcans and repair a pre-warp world's failing reactors — then learn the change won't reverse. Suddenly our heroes are smug, condescending Vulcan jerks who bully Spock for being half-human, with Patton Oswalt stealing scenes as Doug. Spock's katra-restoring mind-meld — La'an fights him, then dances with him — is the season's sweetest moment. Pure farce, and the hosts are delighted.
