Dear Ephesus | Dear Church | Trinity Sermons

This Sunday we launch a brand new teaching series: Dear Church… Ancient Letters for Today’s Church. Together we’ll be exploring the seven letters to the churches in Revelation 2–3, listening for what Jesus says—not only to the churches of the first century, but also to His church today. Today we'll hear about a church that was strong in good works, perseverance, and discernment, but had drifted from its first love. What does it mean for us to love Jesus with fresh passion, not just busy activity? Join us as we begin this timely journey.

Temporada 19

When We Pray | Summer on the Mount | Trinity Sermons

Prayer isn’t just about the words we say to God, it's also about what God is saying to us. This Sunday we’re looking at the power and challenge of The Lord’s Prayer as we wrap up our series on the Sermon on the Mount. We’ll break down Jesus' words together and see how this ancient prayer shapes us in some life-changing ways.

The Cost of Seeking Justice | Trinity Talks Podcast

Doing the right thing often costs us, but is it still worth it? We wrap up conversation on the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount by talking about what persecution means, why we should expect it, and how to get through it. Jesus says that we will be persecuted for pursuing justice - whether in homeless encampments, fights in the subway, when seeking equity, or other places. And Christ is with us in those times, calling us blessed. We conclude this series on the beatitudes by looking at them all together and seeing how the way of Jesus is beautiful, challenging and ultimately worthwhile as we receive these blessings as both a calling and a gift from God.

Built to Last | Summer on the Mount | Trinity Sermons

Sandra Seaborn continues our journey through the Sermon on the Mount

The Real Cost of Peace | Trinity Talks Podcast

Everybody wants peace, but what kind of peace? The path to peace is complex and on this podcast we break down what Jesus means when he calls us to be peacemakers. We ask questions like what is real peace? What’s the cost of peace? What’s the difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper? And what does it mean to be a child of God? We compare the beatitudes to Jesus' statement that he has come not to bring peace, but to bring the sword. Ultimately, the call to follow Jesus is a call to stay weird in a world where we won’t really fit but where we will still find peace.

Ask, Seek, Knock | Summer on the Mount | Trinity Sermons

"Ask, Seek, Knock" – but for what? Jesus’ famous words in Matthew 7 aren’t a blank cheque for our wish list—they’re an invitation into restored relationships, deeper intimacy with God, and daily reliance on Him. Join us on Sunday as we continue our journey through the Sermon on the Mount

How to See God | Trinity Talks Podcast

Jesus tells us that the pure in heart will see God. But is it even possible to be pure in heart? Turns out that’s it’s both easier and harder than you might expect. In this podcast we talk about what it means to be pure in heart and how that relates to holiness and faith. We talk about the good gifts God gives us through Jesus and the importance of being authentic and vulnerable.

Why Worry? | Summer on the Mount | Trinity Sermons

Jesus said “Do not worry”—but that’s easier said than done, especially when your inbox, bank account, and news feed say otherwise. This week, we’ll look at what Jesus really meant in Matthew 6 and why worry isn’t worth it, isn’t helpful, and isn’t how you were made.

Justice, Mercy and Forgiveness | Trinity Talks Podcast

Is mercy really a practical choice? We break down the connection between mercy, justice and forgiveness. Drawing on Bonhoeffer we talk about how mercy is a type of irresistible love for the oppressed and the ways that it calls us to move beyond what’s comfortable and orient ourselves to the way of Jesus. Justin brings in some Karl Bart to remind us that Jesus frees us from the work of judging others and into the work of mercy, even if that mercy takes more than a lifetime.

In Secret | Summer on the Mount | Trinity Sermons

Join us this Sunday as Justin Stratis leads us in an exploration of Jesus’ instructions to practice righteousness, prayer and giving in secret.
