Dr. Nneka shares her story as a Nigerian Cake Designer and Stylist living in MN

The Sweet Heaven by Nne story actually started many years ago, in high school, when she decorated ice-cream cakes at a local Dairy Queen restaurant. Many years later she took a Wilton cake decorating class and her passion for cake design has grown since then. Sweet Heaven by Nne is a registered cottage food producer in Minnesota. All food items that are created and sold are not subject to inspection. At Sweet Heaven, they specialize in creating unique pieces that allow their clients to celebrate so many milestones and special events. Secondly, their cakes serve as a canvas that allows Nne to share her artistic and creative expression with the world. Her specialty is cake and she also offers desserts and treats such as cookies, cake pops, gem/geo hearts, and more. Sweet Heaven by Nne serves the Twin Cities metro area where I live with my husband and three children. Reflecting on Black History Month, I'm reminded of the profound impact African Americans have had on shaping my worldview. From their resilience in the face of systemic oppression to their unparalleled contributions to art, culture, and social justice, African Americans have inspired me to strive for a more equitable and inclusive world. Their stories of triumph and perseverance remind me of the power of resilience and the importance of standing up for justice. I'm grateful for the lessons learned and the perspectives gained from African American history and culture.
