Franklin County Schools is moving forward with its plan to get rid of librarians. On Monday night, many librarians showed up to the Franklin County School Board meeting, some from outside the county, hopeful they could keep librarians in school libraries. During budget talks last month, Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Schuler wrote in a statement "After careful consideration, I am transferring our media coordinators into classroom vacancies next year." She cited a loss of COVID-19 related funding. Chris Tuttell is the and presented nearly 800 signed petitions all in support of librarians keeping their original jobs.
