Is this the beginning of North Carolina leaving the ACC? On Monday, the UNC Board of Trustees approved an audit of UNC-Chapel Hill’s athletic department amid concerns over the Tar Heels’ revenue, management and changes to college sports. There was some criticism levied against Athletic Director Bubba Cunningham after learning that the athletic department submitted a preliminary budget proposal forecasting a $17 million deficit for the 2024-2025 academic year. As the Trustees session took place, Cunningham was in Florida for the ACC’s Spring meetings. Dave Glenn of the North Carolina Sports Network and Chapelboro.com joined Jeff Hamlin on the WPTF Afternoon News to discuss the potential implications of the trustees meeting.
