A small rock ledge protrudes from a wall over a public sidewalk. On the end of that ledge, a name is chiseled into the stone. The name of a woman who led a turbulent life...and the lesson her story left behind for all of us...forever.
A preschool in Inglewood, California was once the final stop for a few handfuls of the very last remnants of a valuable native resource from South America. A resource that, if not protected, risks vanishing from the Earth...forever. This episode goes to show that even the most seemingly mundane things around us have stories...stories that, if we just pay attention and listen, we may just find history's whispers.
During a late-night patrol a police officer sees something unusual and goes to investigate....and learns, in fact, that monsters are very real.
In 1950, a journal of inquiry notices a newspaper clipping about an event that took place almost 100 years earlier...an event that caused locals to lock their windows and doors...because they'd been visited during a snowstorm in the middle of the night, they believe, by a visitor that no one wants standing on their doorstep.
When a wife is asked by her husband what to name the 120 acres they've purchased to live out the rest of their lives on, she remembers a conversation she had once on a train with a stranger....and one of the most recognizable and influential cities in the world gets its name.
