21.🕊Christianity vs. Mormonism (buckle up this is a fun one)
This episode is on some of the key differences between Christianity and Mormonism. We talk about the holy spirit, the afterlife, the divinity of Jesus, books of authority, Joseph Smith, and much more. Also big shoutout to my friend Alexander for sharing a little about his experiences with Mormonism. Hope you enjoy! 😊 - Winnie Sources: Book of Mormon Doctrine and Covenants “A More Powerful Effect upon the Body”: Early Mormonism's Theory of Racial Redemption and American Religious Theories of Race, Cambridge Press
20. 🎆New Years Resolutions, Goals, & Favorite things
This episode is all about New Years Resolutions, how to set goals, and long-term and short-term goals. I also go into some of my favorite things that I've found helpful the past year. Enjoy! 😊 -Winnie
19.👫 Dating w/ Annika Conn
Okay guys! This was by far the most voted for on the polls so I thought I'd give the people what they asked for. In this week's episode, I interview Annika Conn (who is absolutely amazing) and we talk all about dating. The purpose of dating, some common misconceptions, what to look for in a boyfriend/girlfriend, boundaries, and how to date as a Christian. We also talk about how to prepare your heart if you aren't in a relationship. This episode is full of wisdom and I'm so blessed to have been able to talk to Annika. Enjoy! 😊 Annika's Book Recommendations "The Sacred Search" by Gary Thomas "Live" by Sadie Robertson
18.🧋 Updates, Boba, & Future Podcast Plans
This week is short and sweet! Starting next week we will be back with regular episodes. This week is just a little bit about what's going on and what future episodes will be about. Also Boba! I tried it for the second time today and it was delicious. Anyways happy Wednesday and enjoy! 😊 - Winnie
17. 🤠Sisters, Swing Dancing, & Socrates
And we're back again with another wonderful Wednesday! This week I talk about sisterhood with my (somewhat unwilling) sister and we discuss what has helped us grow closer over the years. We also get into the history of Socrates, who he was, what he did, and some of the contributions he made to philosophy. All in all a classic Wednesdays with Winnie! Enjoy! 😊
16.💔 Breakups, Coconut Curry, & Finding God in the Brokenness
This episode is a tough one. It actually wasn't the original topic I had planned for the week, but I felt called to talk about it so here it is. We cover some practical tips about moving on, trusting God, and finding hope after an especially difficult time. We end with some Bible verses and a little about my cooking adventures (I promise I'll upload the recipe to Instagram). Enjoy! 😊 -Winnie
15. 🎈Catholics, Protestants, & Surprise Parties
Back at it again with another episode! This week we're talking about the differences between Protestants and Catholics, the Reformation, and some stats on global Christianity. I also share my experience hosting a surprise party and my struggles with keeping things a surprise. Enjoy! 😊 -Winnie
14. 📓 College Update & some Life Hacks
Hi guys! This episode is all about.... college! We're talking college preparation, things I wish I did, things I'm glad I did, and even some lifehacks (at least things I think are lifehacks). Anyways, I hope you enjoy! - Winnie
13. Part 3. The Big Questions: When does life Begin & is Abortion ever Morally Justifiable?
The last and final installment on abortion. In this episode, we discuss when life begins (from a scientific standpoint), and some common pro-abortion arguments and how to answer them. We also discuss the double effect theory and how it applies to abortion.
12. Part 2: Abortion Clinics, Eugenics, & some Statistics
In this episode, we are getting into how the first abortion and birth control clinics were founded, how early abortions were performed, and the history of eugenics behind modern abortion facilities. We then discuss statistics of current abortion procedures in America. This was a very hard topic for me to research; not necessarily the finding of the information, but simply because it is hard to present information about the deaths of millions of children and not have it affect you. I tried to keep it objective for the most part but the next episode will be about how to talk about abortion and debate it. Stay tuned and I hope this episode is informative. -Winnie This episode contains statistics from the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood Financial Reports, and the CDC.
