That steady drumming of rain overnight? Just the opening act. We picked up about fifteen hundredths of an inch. And now the atmosphere is getting restless.
In the next 24 hours. Here's the situation. Puget Sound sits at 51 degrees right now, climbing to 53 this afternoon. Thunderstorms could fire up — especially around the Sound where chances peak near 90 percent between 1 and 4 P.M. Those storms roll through midday, then rain continues tonight with a low of 42 degrees.
Down in the South Sound, you're slightly warmer. Highs reach near 54 degrees with that same thunderstorm threat. Winds gust to about 12 miles an hour, adding a bite to that damp air.
Head east over the Cascades and it's a different scene. Eastern Washington sees rain likely through this afternoon with highs near 49 degrees. But tonight ...
