The reality of living in a world plagued by sin is that much of life is filled with disappointment. There are seasons where everything is going right, and joy reigns. But there are also seasons, like our bleak midwinter, when not much seems to be going right, and pain and frustration stain the beautiful life we were living. And every so often, those seasons turn into sagas. They seem to keep on and on. How does a Christian pray when it feels like God is not listening? What should a child of God do when he feels despairing and God-forsaken? Thank God for Psalms like Psalm 88, that teach us how a child of God prays when the darkness will not lift.
