Examines the significant racial wealth gap between Black and White Americans. Historical systematic racism, including slavery, Jim Crow laws, and discriminatory housing and lending practices, is identified as a primary driver of this disparity. Current inequalities in financial literacy, education, employment, and access to financial resources further exacerbate the problem. The resulting lack of intergenerational wealth transfer perpetuates the cycle of economic disadvantage for Black Americans. Addressing this complex issue requires tackling both historical injustices and present-day inequalities.
