Today’s readings bring together prophecy, providence, and the nature of the human soul. In First Apology, Justin Martyr explains that the prophets speak in different voices—sometimes the Father, sometimes the Son, sometimes direct prediction—because the Divine Word is the one ultimately speaking through them.
