The power of God’s word is seen both in prophecy fulfilled and in the soul’s search for meaning. Origen reminds us that the Scriptures prove themselves divine not merely by claims but by the conversion of nations and the endurance of the saints under persecution. Augustine, wrestling with the thoughts of his neighbor, urges us not to contend over private interpretations but to seek the unchangeable truth in God Himself (Confessions 11.35). Aquinas takes us further, showing that happiness is not found in health, pleasure, or even virtue alone, but only in God who perfects the soul. Together, these readings call us to rest in divine wisdom, where truth, love, and fulfillment converge (Psalm 16:11; 1 Corinthians 2:10–12).
