Through the Church Fathers di C. Michael Patton

Note sull'episodio

Today’s readings explore the rich theological symbolism of Old Testament practices as fulfilled in Christ. We begin with Justin Martyr, Dialogue with Trypho, Chapters 41–42, where Justin explains how the offering of fine flour and the bells on the priest's robe point to the Eucharist and the apostles. Then we read Augustine, Confessions, Book VII, Chapter 20, in which Augustine rejoices that he encountered the Platonists before Scripture, allowing him to better appreciate the gospel's humility. Finally, Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica, Part I, Question 51, Article 2, discusses whether angels can assume bodies and how they interact with the material world without being incarnate.
