On August 4, 1899, Ezra Taft Benson was born in Whitney, Idaho, the first of eleven children. Raised on a farm, he developed a strong work ethic, deep faith, and a lifelong commitment to service. After earning degrees in agricultural economics, he served as a Church leader, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. In 1985, he became the 13th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout his life, President Benson taught the importance of putting God first, working diligently, and courageously sharing one's testimony with others.
