This Day in His-Story di American Heritage Worldwide

Note sull'episodio

“Silent Night” was first performed on Christmas Eve in 1818 in Oberndorf, Austria, by Joseph Mohr and Franz Gruber as a simple hymn of peace following years of war and hardship. Sung first with guitar accompaniment, the song spread across nations and languages, eventually becoming one of the most beloved Christmas hymns worldwide. Its message of calm, hope, and unity was powerfully demonstrated during the Christmas Truce of 1914, when enemy soldiers laid down their weapons to sing together. “Silent Night” reminds us that the Savior’s birth brings peace even in times of conflict, inviting us to reflect, worship, and share that peace with others in His Story today.
