  • The Warrior Way Episode 10 - 2024-25 Kindergarten Enrollment and Orientation

The Warrior Way Episode 10 - 2024-25 Kindergarten Enrollment and Orientation

Today, we're spotlighting Kindergarten Enrollment and Orientation with our elementary school principals, Michelle Briegel, Principal at Wegienka Elementary School and Tim Podlewski, Principal at Yake Elementary School.  Kindergarten enrollment for in-district students begins on March 11. If you're unsure if you are in-district, you can call the board of education office at 734-783-3300 to verify your address. This will help you determine which school you will attend for orientation.  Children must be 5 on or before September 1 to enroll in kindergarten or Young 5s for the 2024-25 school year.  It is actually very simple to register your child for kindergarten, as the WBSD has streamlined our process to make it more convenient for families. It is a two step process: First, pre-enrollment begins online and then it will prompt you to make an appointment to complete enrollment at the Board of Education office. Everything you need to bring to the appointment is listed on the website. Appointments last about 20 minutes and new Kindergarten enrollees receive a t-shirt, informational folder and goodie bag.
