Begonia (Alexa Dirks) has been enjoying next big thing status since her first release, Lady in Mind in 2017.  She's a Juno and Polaris prize nominated artist and her most recent record, Powder Blue landed on the 2023 Polaris short list.  She's a central figure in Winnipeg's burgeoning music scene and everybody I know who knows or works with Begonia says it's a great injustice she's not already a household name
