After receiving her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College and her Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from University of Maryland, College Park, she eventually went on to start her own private practice: Therapy is My J. A. M., for Black individuals and couples. A licensed clinical marriage and family therapist, she has made it her mission to provide Black women and men with the tools that they need to become healthier and healed individuals and reduce the stigma of mental health in the Black community.
