In the late hours of April 14, 1912, the RMS Titanic hit an iceberg while on her maiden voyage to New York. 3 hours later, the ship would sink. 2240 people were on board. Over 1500 lost their lives. The 705 survivors waited for hours in the freezing cold until rescue arrived.
