NEW: Brisbane Radio Wars in the 90's
The Quarter Hour: the daily podcast for radio nerds di podtential
Note sull'episodio
Over the weekend, Brisbane celebrated what could be the largest Outside Broadcast in Australian Radio History. The city turned out for Riverfire - its annual Fireworks Show complete with the Royal Australian Airforce F-18 Hornets flying up and down the Brisbane River, while Triple M Breakfast was broadcasting live from the riverbank to a crowd of half a million people.
The battle for Brisbane still runs deep but never as strong as back in the 90's when B105 and Triple M went head to head with two live night shows both broadcasting to a city that had no internet or streaming distractions. Both shows had cult followings, and we have both hosts Steve Fitton and Gavin Miller to remember the Battle that was for Brisbane.
