Reuters reports that Meta’s ambitious AI-driven workforce restructuring ran into internal resistance, technical limitations and privacy concerns, ultimately forcing the company to scale back parts of its original plan.

This is important because it punctures one of the biggest pieces of AI hype:

“Just replace people with agents.”

No.

Not that simple.

AI can compress work.

AI can augment people.

AI can eliminate repetitive tasks.

But when you redesign an organization around intelligence, you’re also redesigning:
