A church can be entirely right about the sin while remaining completely wrong about the sinner. Confrontation is never the final destination—restoration is. Too often, we forgive in theory while keeping repentant believers on permanent social probation, preferring the quiet cruelty of gossip disguised as "concern". When we enjoy having someone's failure to hold against them, discipline ceases to be Christlike and becomes revenge cloaked in religious language. True grace does not erase consequences or boundaries, but it refuses to permanently define any soul by their worst failure.
