The Compassion of Jesus: Jesus sees people, feels their pain, and responds with love.
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” — Matthew 9:36 (KJV)
Compassion was a central part of Jesus’ ministry. Jesus did not simply see people’s problems from a distance. He cared deeply about their suffering and responded with love, mercy, healing, encouragement, and practical help.
1. Jesus Had Compassion for the Hurting
Matthew 14:13–14
When Jesus saw the large crowd, He did not become irritated by their needs. Instead, He was moved with compassion and healed those who were sick.
Jesus recognized that people were hurting and responded to their needs.
