Food Insecurity in the United States

Food insecurity is a significant public health and social issue in the United States. It occurs when individuals or families do not have consistent access to enough nutritious food for an active, healthy life. Although the United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, millions of people experience food insecurity due to poverty, unemployment, low wages, rising housing costs, inflation, and unexpected financial hardships.
