Folks, if you stepped outside this morning, you probably noticed winter just called in sick. We're trading that morning bite for a serious taste of spring. You're waking up to clear skies, but —by this afternoon, temperatures are going to soar **25 to 30 degrees above normal**. We're talking record-breaking warmth.
Western South Dakota is leading the charge. Rapid City and the Black Hills hit **72 degrees** by late afternoon. That's a solid **30 degrees warmer than average**. You'll see gusty west winds around 20 miles an hour, but watch out up north. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the northwest plains where gusts could top 50. With dry grass and low humidity, fire danger is extreme today, so please hold off on any outdoor burning.
