This is due to a convergence of critical planetary and lunar geometry, particularly on 29 January with Venus, Mercury, and Earth in alignment, followed by the full moon on 1 February. This alignment is similar to a 2013 event that preceded a magnitude 8.3 earthquake, suggesting a heightened risk of larger earthquakes during this period.
