This episode, Deputy and Cap take the time to reflect on medical calls that they had early in their careers, that really stuck with them. Deputy had a fairly personal connection to his, while Cap's was essentially a stranger but both still think about those patients on a regular basis. We also touch on the wildfires that are currently ravaging the province and exhausting our fellow brother and sister firefighters. We sit down with Chief once again for a talk about PFAS and how he successfully switched all of his members to "Clean" Turnout Gear. We touch on some of the health effects and the road blocks he faced the last couple years. Perfluoroalkyl or Polyfluoroalkyl substances, a group of chemicals that have properties that allow them to repel water, dirt, and oil and is known as a forever chemical.
