Your evening Rhode Island weather update Six weather alerts are active across Rhode Island this Tuesday, with severe thunderstorms already impacting parts of the state and a heat advisory in effect through tonight. The National Weather Service has cancelled one severe thunderstorm warning, but another remains active for portions of our area as storms push through this afternoon. We started cool this morning with temperatures around 68 degrees at 3 A.M., but we're climbing fast toward 91 degrees by 4 P.M.
