Good afternoon. Rhode Island. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Step outside right now and you're looking at 37 degrees under a ceiling of gray. Not going anywhere anytime soon.
In the next 24 hours. Rain develops late this morning and digs in. Providence sees showers becoming likely this afternoon with patches of fog creeping in. Highs barely budge — 38 degrees with a light east breeze around 5 to 9 miles an hour.
Down along Narragansett Bay, same story. Rain and fog roll in before noon. Northeast winds pick up through the afternoon, gusting to 22 miles an hour. That's enough to remind you it's still early March.
Tonight, the rain intensifies. We're talking a half to three quarters of an inch possible. Lows drop to 33 degrees. That damp chill will find every gap in your jacket.
