Someone wrote about a rare, worsening condition with no hope of healing, and asked why God lets some people suffer while others sail through. That question gets argued at length. But four words at the end carry the real one: how can God leave me here.

This episode doesn't answer why. It goes to Psalm 88 — Heman the Ezrahite, cut off, worn out, crying day and night with nothing coming back, telling God to his face that he has hidden it. The only psalm that never turns. God kept it in the book he gave his people to pray, and did not correct it.

One difference between the post and the psalm: one is said about God, the other is said to him. That's the whole episode.
