  • TALKING IS SELFISH

    TALKING IS SELFISH

To me, conversations are arguably the most important thing that I value in my life. And if we are having conversations everyday, it is a muscle that I constantly wish to exercise. Most conversations are not the equal 50% listening and 50% talking. I find that a majority of conversations that I have are 90% listening and 10% talking—and that's not even because I don't have anything to say. I have everything to say, I just feel like I don’t have the opportunities to when I’m talking to people. Today, I wanted to mainly focus and talk on how well or poorly one can hold conversation without rambling and forgetting that a conversation is a two way street. And how it’s not common for people to be aware that they’re making the entire conversation about themselves and making the other person solely listen. I came to learn that psychologists have labeled this phenomenon as conversational narcissism. I believe there needs to be a mindful balance in everything that we do. And if we’re all having conversations everyday, why not work to the best of our abilities to make them as abundant and fulfilling as possible? Thank you for being here and for listening :D

  • I am what I think you think I am

I am what I think you think I am

Welcome back :D Thank you so much for listening to the first podcast that I have recorded in TWO YEARS! I grew up quite lonely and my greatest goal was always to be liked. Recently, I've been feeling a lot of pain as I've been vulnerable emotionally to people's words and actions. But you owe it to yourself to build a barrier between yourself and other peoples words. Today I dive deeper into the ebbs and flows of my anxiety and crisis with identity, and how I practice separating myself from these thoughts now, in hindsight!
