In Washington, Earth’s leaders believe silence and political pressure might eventually bring Daniel back to the negotiating table. But while they debate access, consequences, and how much leverage they still possess, Daniel begins making decisions of his own—decisions that could redraw relationships on Earth without waiting for anyone’s approval.

As new partnerships emerge and old assumptions about power begin to collapse, President Hart realizes the fight over Daniel was never really about getting him to obey. It was about whether Earth could accept a world in which it no longer controlled the only table that mattered.
