Last time, we discussed minimum effective authority: giving a representative enough power to complete a task without granting unnecessary authority.

Today, we look at an equally important question:

What if the right amount of authority is none?

Urgency does not automatically mean you need a Power of Attorney. A POA is a tool for representation. It allows another person to act within defined authority, but it cannot fix every problem.

Before preparing one, ask:

Is representation actually the issue?
