In this video listen to Psalms 42 read by David Alley, followed by comments and prayer. In Psalms 42 we have a son of Korah lamenting how much he misses God - as a deer thirst for water. The author seems to have been from the north of Israel - near Mt Hermon, possibly in the land of Dan. Set in the time after the nation split and the north was ruled by Jeroboam and the golden calves, the writer remembers how he used to go to Jerusalem for pilgrimage. His heart is sad - he misses the fellowship at the temple. It is a sweet psalm of longing.
