In 2 Kings Chapter 16 we have the chapter about King Ahaz. Ahaz was the 12th monarch and 11th king of Judah. Ahaz is also the king that Isaiah gives his famous sign to in Isaiah 7:1-10. Ahaz refuses to believe that God wants to deliver Judah, and he instead turns to other gods to trust them.

The sign is the “Emmanuel sign” which we hear of each Christmas, but it’s local application was that Isaiah’s wife would have a child as a sign that his words were correct.
