Step outside right now and that gray blanket overhead? It's about to lift. We're sitting at 52 degrees after a mild night, with patchy fog clinging to the coast and Long Island. Visibility's dropped to a quarter mile in spots, but that burns off by late morning.
Here's the twist. Today's high hits 65 degrees in the city — about 23 degrees warmer than usual for early March. But don't get too comfortable. A cold front sweeps through this afternoon. And temperatures actually fall as cooler air filters in. By evening, you're back down to the low 60s. West winds pick up to 15 miles an hour with gusts near 20.
