Mark reminds us not to be unsurprised by unbelief. Unbelief comes from the thinking of the world and the challenge of the way Jesus lived, and it can be anchored in and fed by fear. But Jesus is not fazed by unbelief in all its forms. Furthermore, unbelief never has the final word; Jesus does.
