After a successful beach volleyball career at the University of Southern California where she boasted an overall record of 116-38, Haley transferred to play indoor volleyball for her last year of NCAA eligibility at the University of Michigan. As her chronic cough turned from annoying to concerning, Haley pursued medical treatment from multiple doctors. It wasn't until her lung completely collapsed that her cancerous tumor was seen on scans. The treatment plan was nearly guaranteed to end Haley's chances at playing professionally, but she is a fighter.
