Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Jesus also said in John 15:5, “Without me ye can do nothing.” Without Christ, we can do nothing. Through Christ, we can do all things according to His will and purpose.

The sermon begins by pointing out that we live in a failing world. Bodies age, health fails, houses need repair, cars break down, and everything around us tends toward decay. The reason is sin. Because of sin, mankind faces sickness, pain, aging, death, and separation from God.
